forgot the full command but we have a convolver setup for virtual7.1 surround but nobody properly tested it (my headset does not properly support it and sometimes produces a loud boom for some tones)
ujust --choose
in terminal and type virtual
you will find it.
Disclaimer: we cannot provide convolver files for DTS, Atmos, etc. we are limited to the ones freely available on github so we choose one that would be a good starting point.does real 7.1 headset even exist? especially gaming one usually use virtual surround
@HikariKnight sorry to ressureect this one, are there any support docs on this I tried enabling last night but I just don't get any sound. I tried searching docs but didn't really turn anything up. I'm not 100% I'm setting everything up correctly though.
no support docs on it as its just run the ujust and done, unless you want to use some other convolver files
Ok I'll take a look again, do I select the surround sink as my audio device? All other audio routes to it? I'm not familiar with Linux audio and I'm realizing it's a bit of a bear.
i dont use the surround stuff myself as my headphones really do not like it, but iirc you just select it as the output
yeah the ujust even tells you what to do
Virtual surround has now been set up with a sample HRTF file; either restart PipeWire or reboot for it to take effect. If not using EasyEffects, you'll need to select Spatial Sink as your default audio output for it to work.
Hmmm, ok I'll give it another shot tonight
I wonder if easy effects would let me just pipe it to my other sources. But headphones are the only one that matter. The TV has native support at it works through the sound bar.
