Game FPS & Ping dies
My game worked fine until a few weeks ago when it started to just randomly go down in fps to about 4, then my ping goes from my normally 130 to 300-400. I can't no-clip away to fix it and I can barely use the vmenu or any other menu. It happens multiple times a day when I play RSM. I've checked my internet when it heppened last time and it was all fine. I don't know what is causing this issue but it's really annoying. I've met a few others that has the same issue. (Posting a video when it happened last time, I don't know if it sends as a photo or a video)

If youre running something in the background check to see if you have it on hardware accelerated mode
That shit used to happen minus the ping (Im always at 270+)
OH WAIT
you might need to reset your pc that was the only way to fix mine
when it happend it destroyed my spotify too
so try messing with that to fix it
Also could be a ram issue.
For trouble shooting open cmd type ping 1.1.1.1 -t and click enter
When the spikes happen check the command prompt for ping spikes, if none are present they can rule out your connection being an issue.
Fps issue makes it seem like it's a hardware/software issue though, imo.
It's not connection its probably a hardware issue
or a mix of running out memory
Yet you give no valid advice, hence why I said to run that and rule it out for staff.
You said resetting your pc worked, if that's the case it's software related not hardware.
I also reseated my memory while restarting and decided to move what slot my M.2 was in
I would say try hardware acceleration, that was an issue at one point, try reseating stuff in your computer and if none of that works. try restarting.
I agree though process of elimation. Try the ping, if it's not that check your thermals, then move onto hardware ie reseating memory, reseat your GPU, could try clearing CMOS as well.
Always start with software when troubleshooting unless the issue is apparent.
how often do the lag spikes happen?
every minute or so?
if so, press windows key and look for
choose a power plan
(edit will work, but you'll need to click power options at the top) then click on high performanceIt happens now and then, never too close to each other tho, everything from an hour to 4 hours of gameplay then it happens, I could try and lower my settings. I haven't had issues with FiveM with this pc at all, but I did turn up my game settings when I added graphic mods. Might be those as well tbh
Once I close the game my pc runs fine
Also it takes me 2 and a half minute to load in, with no extra stuff and my game is on my SSD :omg:
Checked my settings etc, they aren't super high tbh but if turning something down could help then ye
If you noticed it after installing graphics mods, chances are it's the graphics mods.
What type of SSD? How long have you had it for?
If it’s a regular SSD then we recommend getting an M.2 NVMe SSD
about 2 years, works perfectly fine
yeah its just weird cause i got the same things as rain but the crashes doesnt happen for him, he gave me everything he had in his folders
Different setups, I'd recommend reinstalling and seeing if that fixes it imo
Are you on the beta or canary branch of FiveM? @rey ʚ♡ɞ
theres different ones??
i reinstalled fivem when i got the graphics stuff idk
Yeah you can switch between versions through gear icon in FiveM menu before server selection
You may just honestly need to clear out the cache for FiveM tbh. Do the same for Steam then power cycle your PC.
I don’t think I’ve ever cleared the cache for steam
Clearing cache will only make things worse as she’ll be redownloading in-game content
If there's stuff in there causing bloat though wouldn't it be worth it?
Not really unless you’re using a HDD and/or suffering with disk space problems
I cleared it when I got the graphic stuff, helped my game a lot tbh but idk. Always been told to clear cache when something happens, ever since 2018 so
