HHD charge limit on Ally X
On the ROG Ally X, HHD offers a battery charge limit option. So does the KDE desktop (under "advanced power settings").
Neither appears to work - the battery still charges to 100%. Is there a ticket for this somewhere already?

No, we only had one other report for this
You should make one
I can also give you the command manually to test it out
what is the command / the link to the source that runs the command?
cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_control_end_threshold
echo 70 | sudo tee /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_control_end_threshold
does this path exist?
it should if kde finds itone sec, I'll ssh in
... the charge limit worked
perhaps I've got the wrong problem here. How does one see the charge percentage of the battery in gamemode?
maybe the charge limit was working all along, and I was just duped by it saying "full" and having a graphic of a fully-green battery
Yeah steamui is a bit broken
Not in our control
Use the performance overlay to see battery %
If you set the battery limit with KDE it will conflict
And only work in desktop mode
"the performance overlay" being the right-hand menu, lightning bolt icon?
There is a slider on the performance menu on the right
Thatbenables
It
you mean mangohud?
Yes
okay, I can confirm it's working correctly. Unplugging and plugging in again at 79% charge shows "full" and "not charging"
thanks for the help
