Cannot change kde languages because of locale (localctl)
seems like that was KDE (probably fixed now)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479213
and now its fedora issue - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2300192
is there any another way to change laguage? maybe config file
otherwise i ll be waiting the fix for years

Solution
you talking about display language or locale (regional settings)
because localectl is there and finds the locales
@HikariKnight actually idk, i just wanna to change my system language to english :happy_green_trees:
should be english by default if you selected it during install?
i choosed my native language just to see how its good nowadays and found some UI in many apps so wierd looking , so have to choose english
i never trust the ui to be translated well in my own language, even on windows so i just default to english out of habit
if it needs to change something in
/usr
it wont work in atomic anyway
i am actually testing some stuff in a VM so i will do some checksyes aggree , but dont want to reinstall the whole system cause the just language cause so many things are setup for me
is set-locale LOCALE... will work for me ? @HikariKnight , (exept for usr folder)
no idea as i havent tried changing language before so i need to play around and see
as i said i default to english out of habit
screenshot cause i got crashed my Vesktop by using clipboard probably cause nvidia wayland
there was ru_RU.UTF-8 in the selected part of the text, sorry
pretty sure its something KDE SIG will have to fix, it was reported recently at the end of last month during vacation season so i believe it will get fixed since being unable to swap language is kinda a big deal
although it half worked? @SI
been almost 2 decades since i ran linux in norwegian so might just be expected level of translation for norwegian at this point
although it is a bit funny
keyboard --> keyboard
ends up as
keyboard --> tastatur
😂
@HikariKnight seems like it fully worked for me ! thanks ! :clueless:
