ROG Ally X questions about Performance tab
I installed Bazzite 3.6.0 on my ROG Ally X, while testing some games I noticed the following:
1. The only refresh rates I can select are 24, 30, 40, 60, and 120. Is there any way to select a custom number? e.g. 50Hz/50FPS.
2. I can still change the TDP using the Performance tab, I thought it wasn't supported?

#2 is doing it through HHD, fully supported
Gotcha, I'm gonna read more into HHD itself since it's a really important component of the whole experience. Hopefully something can be done about #1, I like setting custom Refresh Rate when a game is too heavy for full 60fps
you can use MangoHUD to set an arbitrary frame limit
#1 is a limitation in steam I'm afraid
Oh you mean a limitation of the Steam client itself, gotcha
right, it's just their UI
mangohud has an fps_limit option that'll do whatever you want
and can be applied via launch options
then you just turn the frame limit off in steam
What would be the preferred way to manage TDP? The default in Bazzite is HHD but there's also https://github.com/aarron-lee/SimpleDeckyTDP mentioned in some places

Related to #1, frame limitter seems to cap the frames, but the refresh rate stays at 120Hz. Is there a way to change both frames and refresh rate together?
with VRR it should be native even if it says it's not
make sure that's toggled on
It is enabled, see picture below:
Frames are correctly capped at 60, but display refresh rate is still 120Hz
Leaving here for reference, found some GitHub issues that might be talking about the same thing:

VRR breaks every other week we will figure it out eventually
Yes, the display only supports 120hz
Vrr uses a different tech for lowering the refresh rate
Essentially it runs at 120hz and allows the gpu to dynamically change the size of the frame back porch
