Looking for Sneaker Recommendations
So I mostly wear pretty basic clothing at the moment. Just bought these hoodies. Most of the tops I wear are pretty simple and are just hoodies/sweaters. For pants I plan to be wearing cargos/sweatpants, so overall a pretty minimalistic and simple outfit. For sneakers I already have several white pairs as some have noted. I particularly like Jordans such as the 1 Highs and the 4s. I’m also open to non sneaker variations. Some color would be nice such as blues, reds, and greens. Something that can go with most outfits. Thanks!

What are the cut/colour of the cargos?
funny you ask haha. i actually dont have any yet but i plan to have loose fit cargos. color can vary quite broadly
beside that i only have sweatpants atm. not sure where i will be buying cargos from yet, still trying to figure that out as well
Do you have inspiration for what you're looking for? Like I feel as if neutral sneakers are most meant to work since the hoodies are meant to be the very slight "pop" in your outfits
Sure I guess so. I think the hoodies and sneakers are what I want to pop the most

probably fine with the bottom two
Kayanos will carry a different vibe than 4s and as such, call for a different cut of pant, personally

Like the pant-sneaker interaction is the thing that really matters to most people in terms of an outfit

I don’t want super baggy cargos but probably a slightly relaxed fit
So find what you like first in terms of cargos before going for sneakers
Maybe some taper and drape onto the shoes
Taper and drape are kind of opposite things
Could I do the reverse where I get shoes I like then match the pants. I think I’m more interested in the sneakers themselves first

If you're focussed on making the sneakers the focus of the outfit entirely, yes. If you're interested in building a cohesive outfit that's meant to be viewed from top to bottom, it's less likely.

It's probably best then to build up your rotation of pants so that way it becomes clearer what size of sneaker you want (i.e. slimmer vs. bulkier)

You either go very athleisure FOG kinda styling, very technical/fisherman, or Story MFG big wide leg

I do recommend looking at how people wear cargo pants and saving your favourite images as a point of reference
So that way you have an idea of what it is you like
and then can build off of that
I'm also sure people here are far more willing to help recommend different cargo pants

You could even try out different mall brands' cargo pants and see what they have to offer

For pants I’m not as worried about branding/quality compared to tops and sneakers

Ask about cargos at any shop and they'll probably have a bunch of different options for you
It's not how I would do things, but there are people who do put a lot more value into their sneakers and kind of think of the outfit is a means to show them off

I care a lot more about tops and sneakers and for pants they can be anything
i'm almost hesitant to give sneaker advice without knowing that pant fit you want because the way that the pants hit the shoe makes or breaks both the pants and the shoe

maybe you don't want to do the military blues then with your closet because theyre primary white n grey as well
I think with what you're looking at, it's never gonna be too hard to style a sneaker because you're creating a very minimal foundation that a lot of people used to support wilder looking shoes

Of all the things to ask for recommendations for, I don't think sneakers are the thing to focus on, personally
There's a gazillion of them, and they all do very different things for different people
i think you need shoes that arent white is why if your closet only works with white shoes its going to be a big limiter on both what clothes you're buying (have to work with white shoes) and shoes (have to work with clothes that work with white shoes)

one of my favorite 4s recently was the canyon purple and the AMMs and the new olympic pairs but i encourage you to go look for your own

You're building a minimalistic wardrobe of tops and bottoms
and so you need to compensate with shoes that you love

sometimes acknowledging a hole in your wardrobe is going 'i need to look for the right thing to fill this hole' instead of 'i need to find something to fill this hole'
