anything appreciated , apologies if this isnt val related
Some things to do are:
Check the Airport Layout: Istanbul Airport (IST) is large, so familiarize yourself with its layout. Check the airport maps, which are often available online or at information desks, to see where you need to go.
Follow Signs: Look for signs directing you to your connecting flight. Theyโll usually guide you through the transfer process. Since you're already in the transit area, you might not need to go through security again.
Monitor Your Flight Information: Keep an eye on the flight information screens for updates about your next flight's gate. Gates can sometimes change, so staying updated is important.
Be Prepared for Security Checks: Depending on the airport's policy and whether you have to go through additional security checks, be ready to show your boarding pass and ID again.
Be Mindful of Time: Since you only have an hour, avoid stopping for shopping or eating unless itโs very close to your gate. Aim to get to your departure gate as quickly as possible.
Ask for Help: If youโre unsure where to go, donโt hesitate to ask airport staff for assistance. They can help you navigate the airport and ensure you get to your gate on time.
tysm man
do u think itll be possible to ask any staff to let me skip the line for security if its long since thatll result in me missing my flight?

is my flight area already written somewhere for me to find or will i be told on the ticket on the day im there?
once you check in you will get your ticket and it usually doesn't say the gate! they only tell you what time it starts boarding. there's going to be screens all around the airport showing the gates for each flight, so make sure you find yours and know where to go! sometimes they will change the gate for a flight, so check the screen periodically and pay attention to the speakers if you're waiting at your gate.
Wait so how do I know Which gate I have to go, when am I told? (thank you for your help I appreciate it!)
I have the ticket receipt
this is what your ticket will look like once you check in
after tsa you will find tons of tvs displaying arrival and departure infos!
sorry its really blurry i got it from google ToT but they will look like this
I'm taking Turkish airlines, so when I arrive at turkey I'll be given another ticket with the airports zone "e" in the pictures case which I'll have to run to?
i would just make sure that the flight number on your ticket matches the one on the screen so you know it's 100% the right flight. the gate will be displayed here as well as boarding time + any kind of news regarding your flight (delays, cancelations..)
I think I understand but not really entirely.. mb
once you get to the airport you will check your bag (if you have one) and the turkish airline staff (sometimes there's a computer and you can do it by yourself) will print your ticket. sometimes there's not a seating zone, i think it depends on the airport. i just hang around, look at stores, maybe eat something while keeping an eye on my flight until there's a gate displayed
1 hour layover is what I'm rlly concerned about...
you should be fine! if anything happens the airline should put you on the next available flight automatically
oh i thought id be stranded ๐ญ ty
if you have any questions at check in, the airline staff is always very nice and will answer your questions ^-^
hopefully the language barrier wont get in the way aha
thats very unlikely XD worst case scenario you have to stand in a line to talk to the airline's customer service desk
gotchaa
may i ask 1 more question?
yeah ofc :]
so i got the map here and im searching different random old tickets and matching them to the gate
on most i cant find the gate unless im thinking it the wrong way?
thers only e1 e2 e3 e4?
same thing for other pics with different gate numbers :^ ?
not sure
the ticket you sent is from 2018
so maybe they changed the airport map and theres no gate e5 anymore
oh yh they remade it in 2018 i think
tyy for the help, appreciate it a ton
theres going to be lots of signs around the airport guiding you to your gate
and also lots of airport staff hanging around ready to help and answer questions
ill maybe ask them for directions rather than finding the signs as i dont want to waste any time really
