im trying to do dual boot with a fresh windows install on rog ally x
shrunk partition,
unallocated 350gb
no secure boot
disabled fast boot from bios, desktop
no bitlocker
What could be causing this?
Have same issue , I unallocated 1tb I select automatic , and I have same issue
I didn’t disable fast boot or secure boot and I’m trying to fix this as well
I’m getting error check storage configuration and I see my space that I made
I fixed it..
I had to incrase the partition to 2 tb
I have a 4tb ssd
i increased it to 2tb instead of 200gb and it worked
Ok ill try increasing it , I wonder for 4 tb if that’s what they want
That’s silly though if you have to give half the space of the ssd
wonder if its just anaconda expecting a 50/50 split to automatically handle dual boot
Maybe manual partitioning instead of automatic would work
it would, but i have only done that with a 2 disk setup, bit unsure how to avoid being destructive with the EFI on that.
at least with anaconda
For manual partitioning, I usually setup a separate EFI partition
That way windows won't mess with it
I've done it several times before
Just to piggyback on this, I had the exact same issue trying to install Bazzite on my GPD WIN 4 with a 4TB SSD. I had to make and format the partitions using GParted to actually get it to install.
Got my working as well , I shrunk bazitte after it installed with gparted , so now I have 1tb for bazitte
Ok, I was having the same issue and had to change from a 1TB partition to 2TB. I see you guys saying you shrunk the partition again after installing Bazzite with GParted. I'm not familiar with this. Could someone assist me with this?
boot the installer for a different linux that provides a live installer (essentially a trial mode for the desktop before installing)
like ubuntu, pop_os, fedora workstation
then once you are on the live destkop just open
gparted
and resize from there.
a live installer is being worked on, but currently atomic desktop cannot use a live installer
