Screening effect
""""the 5f electrons are more effectively shielded from nuclear charge ."""""
In other words , the 5f electrons themselves to provide poor shielding from element to element in the actinoid series ,so the actinoid contraction is Greater from element to element then Lanthanide contraction..
Which has got good screening effect ?
4f or 5f and why ??

Actinoid contraction is greater from element to element than lanthanoid contraction. Why?
does this help?

Actinoid contraction is greater than lanthanoid contraction because the shielding effect of 5 f orbitals is poorer than that of 4 f orbitals, then why is the ionisation enthalpies of actinoids less than that of the lanthanoids?
@iTeachChem
5f is more diffused
Short answer - you see data
And try and back track reasoning from there
5f : more diffused : wide spread : electron cloud more spread : poor shielding .
Sir could we say this ?
@iTeachChem
not sure about wide spread
but rest is good
