grant stone loafer sizing
Anyone with grant stone travel loafers, what sizing did you go with? The website said a half size down recommended. Also do you like them?

Pretty sure @Shrimp my Ride has em
Can confirm I went half a size down. Good shoes, good last. There is a 10ish wear break-in period
Also, if you are outside where it is wet a lot, I recommend a toppy
Thank you! They have a pair in B stock for much cheaper that i’m thinking about but its no returns so i wanted to double check on sizing
I did also want some suedes and the price is right on these
I would recommend contacting them and asking why it is b stock.
Yah thats a good idea thank you! I think i might just opt for buying new suedes actually since those are returnable
You don't want this

Holy shit i have never seen a b stock that bad before lmao
I don't think it's normal, just be careful and contact them first
Thanks for sharing that post tbh i think i’ll pass for now on b grades from them.
What color are your suedes?

Loden suede
I like the bourbon as well
Yah these look great thanks man!
Cheers, let me know how you make out
love the loafer last shape tbh. i have a black tassel and the half size down works. i have an instep on the lower side so i had to fill in that space (and it's still a bit loose, so maybe it's a bit generous on the instep)
It's just that with leather soles, if you are out in the rain or snow a lot, you wind up needing to resole much sooner.
the usual method of having a leather tongue pad. i cut my own since leatherworking is a hobby
Resurrecting, but I have a pair in calf and I followed their half size down sizing advice and I have a lot of tightness at the top of the shoe / loafer band at the end of the day. Was that part of your break in experience? I’m two wears in lol.
I tried the suede but it felt a lot looser for the same size. Kept the calf. Not sure if I had a loose pair or need to go a full size down.
I can't give you a definitive answer because I don't have their shoes in calf, and also because shoe sizing is so tricky. I don't think being tight across the vamp is an automatic out, and it certainly could loosen with time.
I think a general guideline with shoe sizing is that if it bothers you just a little, it may be resolved with some wear and looseness. If it's bothering you quite a bit, you probably have the wrong size.
Yeah it’s just a little fortunately.
Just curious if you had similar experience in suede.
Do you happen to have any of their other shoes/boots? curious how sizing and fit compares.
I did not experience any issues in that particular portion of the shoe that you're mentioning, but I would say there was a break in for the shoes overall. Probably 12 wears or so. So they definitely do loosen up.
Do that I also have a pair of there suede longwing derbies, and I also went half a size down for those and they fit okay. It's shoe size and can be very different and case-by-case.
Do you know the width of your feet? That can really affect the sizing
I’m a 11.5E brannock and ordered 11E. Width it feels perf. I originally got interested in them because they had E available, so many places is just D or EE/EEE.
I’ll give some time to break in and hopefully it’ll work out
@Tarrusin the instep area will definitely break in, and in general, suede is more forgiving than calf. I experience the opposite desire where the instep area will loosen up and my foot starts moving around lol
