Straight lines
can i solve this by assuming that the lines are concurrent and hence just do trial and error of options and one will turn out to be right?
i tried but it did not work so i wanna know if my thought process is right or not.. the solutions i have looked at so far all involved use of angle bisector method (which im yet to learn)

to close the thread when your doubt is solved. Mention the users who helped you solve the doubt. This will be added to their stats. The center line that you get on adding the vectors of the two lines incident and reflected is the normal which is perpendicular to your give ax+by one
adding the vectors wha
So you can just find the normal vector by vector addition and use the two lines perpendicular thingy that is m1m2=-1 and you try options I suppose they are given as unit vectors as the equation ax+by=1 resembles a special equation you must have studied parametric I suppose
ok i got ur method
but why is mine not working, cus they are concurrent for sure
Lemme see
Ahh got it
Along the line does not mean it is the exact line that got reflected it can be a parallel line to the reflected line
And I assume 3rd option is right
Acc to my head atleast 3rd option
Idk
yeye it is
misleading 🥲
I do remember making such a mistake in straight lines
Straight lines I tell you is a chapter you come across examples of different questions and get better at it
im self study student and i just started this thing, thinking its piss ez... im not having the greatest of times
Keeping practicing is the only thing you can do
🙏 shall do sir
