Filson Rail-Splitter Jeans
I've been eyeing these jeans for a bit, and currently filson is doing a sale. So I was wondering, what do yall think of these jeans?
First one is medium indigo
Second is raw indigo
Third is rinse indigo

i dont think there's anything distinguishing them from other denim at the price point
im with rej. build quality is probably pretty good but what jeans arent good in that price range?
but at the same time if you like the cut and the fit is what you want then hit it
i think filson's quality has slipped over the years. their shtick was that their products were produced in seattle, but i don't think that's the case anymore
Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. I've seen older filson stuff as apart of americana, but I don't know how well their current stuff holds up today. It says on their site that it's sewed in the U.S but it doesn't specify Seattle π
I think the advice above is pretty much it. Like it? go for it. Want some other recs around that range? feel free to ask
made in USA is a good sign for sure
Okay π thank you
I agree with everyone else. There is nothing wrong with these jeans but their is nothing particularly unique about them either. If you like something about this particular pair, Iβm sure that they are nice and high quality. If you just like the idea of American made denim or heritage styled denim, there are comparable or better options for less money too. Happy to help if itβs the latter
Yeah I honestly just want some American jeans. I've been checking out filson for a while bc I know they're along the lines of LL bean and Orvis with being apart of Americana and sportswear/fishing/outdoors stuff
+ I need more jeans π₯²
Tellason and Left Field Greasers would be good MiUSA alternatives. Lots more options from the Japanese brands (Sugar Cane 1947, Warehouse 100xx, Resolute 710 come to mind first for me and roughly span the range of classic cuts)
also Railcar Fine Goods
ill check em out o7 ty
also wanted to know, would you be able to tell me anything else about left field greasers? I looked em up and it looks like they have a store here in NYC which is cool cause that means I could go and physically try the pants on
Never tried them personally but anecdotally it seems like people like them. Left Field has other cuts but the proportions of the Greaser seem closest to the Rail Splitter (medium rise, tapered leg, etc)
Oh cool
I was looking at the smokestacks on their site cause it says its for folks who have large calves/thighs
in general you will get advice here that leans towards wider cuts
a top heavy outfit tends to not look as good as an even weight or bottom heavy outfit
that isnt to say that tapered pants cant work, just need to do some good pairing
