Display won't turn off

Plasma spin. The sleep after inactivity works, but if I disable that and only have the screen off after inactivity, the screen never turns off. The dimming does work. Any workarounds?

It does turn off though if I lock the screen Workaround is to autolock and then turn off screen when locked after 20s. Kind of annoying though
