40.20240722.0 Gnome black screen after short inactivity
bazzite-gnome-nvidia:stable
After suspend/resume, while using the computer the screen goes blank and the monitor says it has no input signal. Seems to happen if I do nothing for less than a minute.
Tried booting on 40.20240717.0 and the problem went away. Looks like it's the same NVIDIA driver in both versions, 555.58.02.
Kernel issue?

Forgot to add that after waking up from sleep, I only see a cursor on a black screen for about 10 seconds before login dialog. Normally the login is shown within a few seconds. I am using Gnome Xorg.
It's gotten worse with later versions, now I can't resume anymore. Found this, seems to an issue with the latest Nvidia drivers: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/device-driver-crash-unable-to-handle-page-fault-after-suspend-resume-with-version-555-58-02-on-linux-kernel-v6-9-9/300380

Looking into the logs after reboot I see unhandled page faults caused by the nvidia device driver, and multiple follow-on er...
leave it to nvidia to mess it up, not much we can do since its closed source...
your options are to use an image that works for you until it is fixed by nvidia or live with it and stay on stable. also

is outdated as there have been a few builds since that date.Yep, I've pinned 40.20240717.0 and will stay on that until it is resolved. All newer versions have the issue, the latest (40.20240730.0) being the worst with black screen after resume requiring reboot every time.
