is there anything i can do to lower the ram requirements of players joining the server?
I just recently created a modded server for my friends with shockbyte, running the Dungeons and Diabolism modpack for 1.16.5.
When i try to allocate only 4 gigs of ram it gets stuck on joining world, and thats the maximum that some of my friends can allocate.
Is there anything i can do to make it playable for them?
Im very new to creating servers so i havent really tried anything yet, as i dont know what to try.

RAM allocation of the client != RAM allocation of the server

You can raise the RAM allocation of the server without having to worry about the RAM a client is allocating to their launcher instance
I know, the server is 8g of ram, the problem is people cant join without allocating 5g and some of my friends cant do that
Usually heavily modded servers can do well with more RAM, like 12GB. But there’s also a lot you can do to optimize it like lower render and simulation distance
How many mods do you have @wlowery
This is the modpack im using https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/dungeons-and-diabolism
It has 229 mods
CurseForge
Dungeons & Diabolism
Tons of Magic, world gen, exotic mobs, and some retro tech mods!

Yes, allocating 4GB of ram to the client is not enough
