what am I looking for in white sneakers?
Hey everyone, looking to add white sneakers to my footwear rotation. Is this considered business casual though? Also what am I looking for? Any brand or model recommendations? I like minimal no logo stuff. I went to Aldo and Call it Spring but didn't find anything.

I would not consider sneakers "business casual", but that term is ill-defined, and they could be OK at some workplaces.
What's your budget?
Is this the kind of thing you are looking for?
If that's common projects yes it might be out of budget, and a friend keeps telling me I need to get a pair of white sneakers for some of my outfits, and I've definitely seen it being pulled off at work
But yes ultimately that is something I'm looking for, something I can throw on for Friday or maybe even Thursday with a blazer and chinos
white converse or vans should be fine for what you're describing
Yeah, I've been told not to suggest Stan Smiths because they are not really on trend right now, but that does seem like pretty much what you are looking for.
But I also agree that white canvas Vans or Converse are probably a better choice.
I wear my white canvas sneakers a lot more than my Stan Smiths.
I’m kinda still breaking in my white Skolyx, but they seem well worth the $130 or so plus shipping. Really nice leather and construction.
I love my stans, and don’t care they are not on trend. They’re great shoes
do you think white sneakers as a whole are not 'on trend' ? just curious, thank you for the replies guys - although i am not sure i understand the tom and jerry one lool
it's less that they aren't trendy and moreso they aren't the ubiquitous 'this goes with everything' shoe as in the 2010s
now there's additional types of sneakers that are also popular (cream vans, neutral color NBs, GATs, etc) and other shoes that fill a similar role (loafers).
people still wear all white shoes but plenty of other things to (see #waywt or #inspiration for what i mean)
I got some off-white leather sneakers that I like better with chinos than my pure white ones. But white are good for casual use
so i tried on some pure white shoes when i was at the mall, and that was the first thought i had, "i wish these were off white" - may i know which shoes you have?
I got these from Stefano Bemer. They’re kinda pricey but very nice. Wholecut kudu suede leather
Visited their shop when I was in Florence recently
Looking at waywt I'm seeing a lot of loafers. I have always thought of them as being very formal. Are there loafers out there that kind of bridge the gap between casual? What should I be looking for when it comes to loafers (material, style, etc) thank you, you have been very helpful especially zeo
They get less clean over time. I dislike off white cause over time they take on a dirty yellow tinge to them. Just get white sneakers and in 1 months time they'll stop being pristine
with regards to what to look for with loafers, the loafer guide in #fashion-guides does a very good job of outlining this in detail, then has a link to a buying guide https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/how-to-talk-about-loafers
How to talk about Loafers
by u/danhakimi (2018)
to your first question, the way to make them 'less' formal imo isn't in the style of the loafer but how you wear it - wear it with jeans instead of dress pants, or with white socks instead of dress socks, or with a different colored belt for example
there's several fits from me or smiles or art or circ in #waywt that would satisfy this, plus some of the threads in #inspiration like https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1262439085272989889
Starting out wanting white sneakers and ending up with loafers would be very MFAD2024
