gently fitted makes me think they would work as a t-shirt analog
how long are they, relatively speaking?
One is absurdly long, and has to be tucked in to be wearable at all. The other naturally hits about mid-crotch
might be worth trying on the shorter of the two under a button up to see if it can function as a vest
You could wear them with a sportjacket or casual suit?

yep, similar to layering a t shirt under a regular dress shirt
if the 'gentle' fit allows you to wear it over a button up then that's also a thought
