Can I configure a subdomain to point to a specific port on my server
I have an old computer which I converted into a Minecraft server. I have 2 Minecraft servers running simultaneously, one on port 25565 (default) and one on port 25566.
I bought the domain something.
Hostinger asks for a target with the SRV any idea ?
It would be your A record
So in this example’s SRV their ‘value’ is the target
so your target would be ‘survival.yourdomain.com’ or whatever
Just reset my DNS records redone it and still get this error
Try:
Create your A records first, then save
Then do your SRV records (and send a screenshot, you can blur out the ip if you wish)
I created the A records then done the SRV and that was the error i got when saving record ill ss the now
if it saves the name wont have the .domain and if i edit and save it with the domain again it deletes its self
Is that both of your SRV records?
No i would need to make a vhunters one still but the name doesn't save right
Name is missing the .rx-gaming.host even after typing it out (if i click edit and re-add it to the name it will delete the SRV)
Make sure your names aren’t the same
they aint they have _minecraft._tcp.insane.rx-gaming.host and _minecraft._tcp.vhunters.rx-gaming.host
but wont save with the .rx-gaming.host part
Bump
Oh yeah, thats "normal"
It should work tho..
and you only need one A record
Your setup probably doesn't work because you have 2 records with the same name. Both, the SRV and A record, are using vhunters.example.com
Make an A record like origin.example.com that points to your IP, then use this record on both of your srv records.
ahhhh i think i get you
Also! DNS records are not private. they don't hide your IP address.
Just wanted to make sure since you blurred out the IP, but can be easily obtained with a ping
something like this
Bit of a noob too this hahaha
Like this ?
yeah!
Showing both on same server type even with diff ports
eeee
Works good to me
https://mcsrvstat.us/server/vhunters.rx-gaming.host
https://mcsrvstat.us/server/insane.rx-gaming.host
DNS records often take a while to update, sometimes up to 24 hours.
But according to your TTL values, probably it will take 4 hours :S
ahh hahah i can change ttl
