Looking for a shirt like this but better quality, natural fibers

I like the camp collar, short sleeves, fun but not overly busy pattern, summer color palette, loose fit, and $50 price tag I don't like that it's made out of viscose! Fast fashion 😖. I'm looking for a linen or cotton blend, something like that Looking online people recommend things like Charles tyrwhit [sic], which is giving middle-aged prep, and Uniqlo, which is a brand I like but they don't have great patterns

I'd look on eBay for camp collar shirts. With patience you will find something decent quality in a pattern you like. Also try Abercrombie and Fitch, but that will be more expensive, unless you find a sale. Maybe Madewell? Vintage Banana Republic with "Irish Linen" on the tag is good too.

Linen/cotton will probably drape very differently to viscose/rayon and natural fibres with a similar drape (silk probably) will be very expensive and may be difficult to care for. Rayon is a pretty environmentally rough fibre from what I understand but it's not the worst to wear in my opinion - it definitely has a cooler feel than other synthetics like acrylic/poly. You could look into linen/viscose blends if you want to up the natural fibre content and keep the silky/fluid drape. If your opposition is purely due to not wanting to support the fast fashion industry then uniqlo (and most sub 50 optons) is also out. We probably sound like a broken record but for 50 bucks yeah thrifting is the way to go. It might be challenging to find a print you like, though, depending on your taste.

Awesome, thanks all. I'm willing to pay >$50 for a shirt that will last - my understanding is that viscose isn't durable, esp being susceptible to warping in the wash/dryer

yeah you can wash it (i wash everything on cold and have never had major issues) but you should hang dry. depends on the rayon but i've had some rayon shrink a little and get a little more matte/pebbly in the wash. ftr this can make it look almost like washed linen so it's not necessarily the worst thing. There can be differences in sturdiness/washability between viscoses/tencels/other rayons. check the care label and if it says hand wash only maybe steer clear. I'm trying to think of recs but my luck with nice rayon camp collars has been really mixed and not consistent within brands - the one i have that's held up the best is a thrifted allsaints one. it's a thicker, matte-er fabric and it's kept its shape well. it's probably 8-10 years old. For durability and uh "investment" ig i would say find a good linen shirt with french or felled seams and it'll soften up the more you wash it. if it's described as washed/laundered it should already be pretty soft.
