Understanding how custom hostnames are billed

I would like to do some cleanup of unused hostnames, and I'm wondering which ones I should delete.

Is it 10 cents per month per hostname only if the status is active? Does the ssl_status also have to be active? What if the hostname status is deleted, but it is not removed from the Cloudflare console?

If you're still unsure, I would billing ticket. I looked around through past threads/docs but can't find much on this, specifically if you are billed only after they become active

Not sure -- good question, looks like at one point the blog post may have said you'd only get billed after setup

Ssl status shouldn't matter as you can make hostnames even without SSL

As long as it's deleted and no longer working, you shouldn't be charged for it anymore.
