purpur not detecting java version

So, i have java 8, 17 and 21 installed because i play a lot of modded minecraft and need all of them for different versions. Today i tried making a purpur server on my pc but it says that i need java 17 or later, but i have it installed. What do i do now?

Call the specific version in your startup command or set it as the default. Both can be figured out through a quick Google search

i'm pretty sure java 21 is the default btw, also i can't seem to find how to call the specific version in the sturtup command (i'm probably not searching for the right thing, i've never made a server on my pc, but i needed it because i wanted to try a plugin by myself)
