Crafty Controller vs Pterodactyl

Which overall would be best for renting out servers to other people for a limited time? What are some special benefits one has over the other? Are there any other control panels that might be better? Give me all of your personal opinions on either of them!

Well the industry standard is pterodactyl but it is much more complicated than crafty controller That’s really the main difference right there. You’re getting way more features and security but it’s about 100x more complex to set up Pterodactyl should be your first choice if you’re willing to do the work, but if for any reason you can’t use a Linux based distro you would probably want to go with something else. Crafty controller afaik is also not nearly as stable Looking at the docs I could install crafty controller on windows in like 10 minutes. It took me 3 days and a lot of back and forth with the pterodactyl discord to figure it out my first (and only) time installing pterodactyl.

So basically the only upside to using crafty controller is the ease of installation and windows compatibility? With just that info pterodactyl would be a winner in my book, unless there was something else thats persuasive for crafty

If you’re looking to run Minecraft servers and Minecraft servers only, as well as ease of use and ‘install and forget’, crafty controller is the way to go

^ Ptero also comes with a tonnn of features that crafty doesn’t have, as well as being “finished” software
