There's some kitbash asset in the polyhaven contents, but when dragged, it's in a single static mesh is there an option to import them as separate? I tried the split action in modeling mode but it's not the best

Hello, thank you for reporting this. I think we don't have the right metadata to detect if an asset is actually multi mesh like different assets, or is made from multiple meshes but meant to be used as one. There are both cases in PolyHaven and we are prioritizing the one where multiple meshes are meant to be one. @Ilgar Do you think we can add some option to avoid merging?

What you can do for now, is to download it and spawn it, then right click and find it in content browser

from there you will see all the individual components that you can use

this asset does have some interesting pivot placements though

Hello! Yeah, this is know issue, and this is ambiguous without additional metadata. Here is an example. This asset consists of 2 separate parts, you can't tell if this is a modular pack or a compound asset. In case of compounds (>90% of polyhaven assets) - you want to spawn all assets at once. In case of modular pack, you want to spawn 1 asset. Polyhaven don't have any distinction, between these two, thus we use the most common case. And as @Costantino said, you still can spawn individual assets

Also, this is not how modular packs work, pivots are in the wrong positions. You still need to prepare these assets before you can use them. This also doesn't help us automate the process and we don't have direct access to source assets
