like in KMnO4 to MnSO4 how will i know the charge of S and Mn? pls help

Sulphate ion carries -2 charge
can also carry 6
So manganese is at +2 oxidation state
how do u know its -2? hasnt been specified..
Sulphur can carry +6 not sulphate
Bruh sulphate is always at -2 that's how the atoms are bonded to each other
