Why is Bazzite not rolling back the nvidia drivers?
The amount of problems I and other people are having using wayland with the new nvidia driver is very problematic. I cannot even use kde with wayland because of how laggy it is. Also, I know I can rebase to a previous image but I do not want to downgrade every package just so I can have the old nvidia driver. If someone is using nvidia you cannot even recommend using this distro with this driver version. Please let me know if Bazzite will switch back to the 550 branch.

We will not be downgrading
You can use the X11 session
Ah I can't because I have multiple monitors with different refresh rate
Unfortunately 555 is the best functioning driver with Wayland
If you downgrade you will have flickering and all sorts of other problems
I mean basically unusable
For now you should use X11 until 560 is stable
Oh I never experienced that with the old driver
I guess I will just switch distro in the meantime until nvidia fixes it because at least for me the 550 driver was working good on wayland
I tried the gnome build again and it surprisingly much better then kde on wayland with nvidia, I still had to force firefox to use x11, also gnome software is still freezing when installing apps but I just created a new desktop file and forced it to run in x11 and disabled it from auto starting. Now everything seems to be working smoothly
@Kyle Gospo Have you guys thought of inclduing dash to panel extension by default in the gnome build? I think it would help windows users when trying the gnome version
I ship hot edge instead
dash to panel is cool but it breaks all the time
so I leave it as an extercise for the end user
okay cool, also I had to copy all of my extensions to the local folder for them to update. Does bazzite update the system extensions?
Just perfection and blur my shell needed updates
and some other extensions
both are pacakged by fedora
and updated as they build em
oh okay
thanks for the help
@Kyle Gospo Do you wait to check if the system extensions are compatible with a new gnome version before pushing an update ?
Or do we just get the update and some of them will break?
For the ones we include, yes
OK thanks
I have disabled dash to panel and using hot edge just to try the default experience in bazzite and it is pretty good, gnome should have this by default makes it much easier to use the overview
