dedicated local hosting fails

I'm using a dedicated fabric server to host a local server at my home network, we are using the right ipvn4 address of the hosting machine (i don't play with it btw), and we both can join normally, but only one of us, when the other one joins, the other one immediately freezes and kicks them out while only displaying on screen : "Connection lost, timed out", while terminal doesn't hint anything besides User lost connection: multiplayer.disconnect.generic.

What’s your network speed like And realistically I don’t recommend self hosting but eh

35 downloading and 65 uploading with ookla test while trying to join server, i also realized it seems more on her side, since im on server and she tried to join and cant seems kind of weird, since both that hosting pc and laptop are on wifi and on similar distance Yeah i know is a terrible idea but i think like that can be less laggy since neither both pcs have great capability for load chunks fast and not laggy bc ram

lots of RAM != performance you could have 100000 gb of ram and an intel Pentinum and it would be slow af

mhhhh, so is all abt the cpu?

pretty much Single threaded performance RAM is obviously necessary but cpu does most of the work Plus using an OS like windows isn’t ideal

Yeah i'm aware linux would be ideal,

hence why shared hosting is a better idea

So if just for myself it would just be for few friends just better pay something out than the journey to make this work. Since if she can't connect through local i don't even think by postforwarding or anything alike will, although i also found a mod that somehow makes the trick and let her connect (altho fails connection later) Even though I'm learning programming and I'm interested in knowing pc stuff so also got motivated make own server

problem with hosting at home is that you have to pay for electricity etc… It’s certainly weird that only one of you can join at once or that you have connection issues. Your network seems fast enough

One of things that pushed me off from paying for mc server is that is paying monthly but I may not play everyday or a lot, but i just found some pay-per-hour minecraft host server which may be more worthier time and money, Thank you for helping me! :pepecross: this self hosting stuff was giving headache of problems to host

pay per host usually cost mroe than a month at a solid host, and have worse hardware
