Formula bhai tanalpha = bsintheta/a+bcostheta tanalpha is 1/0, therefore cross multiply a+bcostheta = 0 , 4+6costheta = 0, costheta = -2/3 you could do this graphically too make the diagram

I guess it's side effect of coffee From the morning I am solving physics only so I am getting dizzy ig Also can you explain the method that HC verma used ?

they used resolutions of vectors we know, the resultant is perpendicular, therefore there is component in the direction of A so 6cos(180-theta) = 4 which is costheta = -2/3
PeterGriffinItis
Actually in HCV, the solution is given as a shortcut... It's the formula of tan alpha, where alpha= 90° ,tan alpha = a+bcostheta, and then find costheta, that's it

I am really getting more confused by HC verma

Actually , it's an advice, it's good to keep a book like Nootan handy... Those have elaboratw, I mean, too elaborate explanation to get basic strong I do it too

yo bro then whts the mistake in my method parallelogram law : OY^2+ OA^2 = 36 36-16= 20 root 20 = OY aur A^2 + B^2 + 2ABcos theta = resultant^2 36+16 + 1152costheta= resultant^2 52+1152costheta= 20 -32/1152 cos inverse = theta xd np np lol chill, thats physics. whtv u do u gotta fail before u get good in it. first time bhi mujhe bhi struggle kiya, rn a little struggling but relax

OY is the resultant mf 😭

you cant use parallelogram for this question Because you only have a and b, parallelogram law has 4 variables and you have 2 of them
BroGotNoQuotes
BroGotNoQuotes7mo ago
ahh why? like triangle law bhi aayega
lakshya
lakshya7mo ago
better use the formula for angles tanalpha = bsintehta/a+bcostheta
BroGotNoQuotes
BroGotNoQuotes7mo ago
but triangle law does come here right?

yea what he told here was correct i believe, well wht i did was take it parallel and then use triangle formula but it seems that method doesnt work, dw u going in the right path u will be hella confused but in 2 weeks or so everything will become clear dw
