Need some help in classification of different bazzite images
So, as the title says I am little confused regarding the different bazzite images available to download. Currently I have installed the 'other laptop' one on my Lenovo 15ach6 has a Radeon igpu + gtx1650 Q
Games run good and all out of the box, but I am not able to see the performance overlay. I am only able to see the small fps counter on the left. I am talking about something like this.
I figured maybe it has to do something with the htpc or the desktop version, but preferred to ask first before reinstalling it bunch of times. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

The iso name is the image you're using
(Or, even better - whatever it says when you're running
rpm-ostree status
)
You're probably running bazzite-nvidia
Which would be the same whatever you choose Other Laptop, Desktop, or htpc@Kasher_CS yess I now seen to have grasped how the naming scheme for works here. I tried the bazzite-nvidia version yesterday and that worked well with the set back of having no performance overlays options except fps counter. I installed the bazzite-deck right now and it seems to have the performance overlay options, but I had to disable the dgpu for it to even boot. So Is there any possible way to run the game of of dgpu and keep the performance overlays.
Also if you don't mind , if I am correct then gamescope can work on any version of bazzite whether it being nvidia or amd?
Also, FYI, you can switch between the versions without reinstalling
afaik gamescope (Not the session) works, so you can try toggling that
time machine
nvidia right now no
amd yes, mostly after 2021
but nvidia is making progress, 560 driver maybe it starts working
if you want the overlay, you can add mangoapp to the launch options
What does that mean XD
Ohh yes I have heard of that ,I will definitely try that
you'll need a time machine for it to work on nvidia
although
Nvidia 560 will make gamescope-session work
š
for your card it will never work
Cool
sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Sucks but no problem
maybe it will, but only 2xxx cards will get support from the open driver
+
All depends on the maintainers I suppose
thats what they said
What about gamescope? Is that feasible right now on bazzite ??
with a bunch of hacks you can get gamescope to launch the steam menu
I tried launching it from cmd but , it wasn't perfectly usable you see
You mean gamescope session or gamescope the microcompositor?
also theres a difference between nested and direct
one might work, other might not
I mean that thing which upscales
The lore is deep
lol
So just nested mode
nested is not worth it
Damm
What would be best option for me then
Probably bazzite nvidia
I already have great windows installation+hackintosh setup , just wanted to test steam os this year
If you want to test something even closer to steamos than you can disable your GPU and run bazzite-deck
I see , I have installed deck version rn, probably have to uninstall or rebade that
Rebasing is very easy
You by disabling the dgpu?
It is disabled
That is how I was able to boot
With it on , it would get stuck at launching steam
If the performence is good enough for you, you can stay on Bazzite-deck
@Kyle Gospo put a disclaimer on the nvidia ISO
Naah it sucks bro, the igpu is decent but can't even push above 30fps on genshin.
rip, so these are your two choices
Tbh I was indeed surprised how close to native performance it was able to give
Yeah š
Thanks
@antheas ššš
everyone has nvidia, amd has like 10% marketshare
They could have pushed for more, but they didn't.
Obviously they have very different goals
sudo rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-nvidia:latest
If you want the commandtheres a lot of whining by nvidia users dont worry
Thanks š
Hehe maybe I am one of them

When Fsr 3.0 came out idk how excited I was to see 1650 run cyberpunk at 55fps
fsr 3 works on linux if the game supports it
unfortunately no global fsr3 yet
