error in the first boot after installation. [failed unmounting var.mount - /var]
Guys I’m a newbie with Linux and trying to install bazzite os expecting to have a similar experience as steam OS.
I’m trying to get a dual boot with windows 11 and after formatting the disk and setting the efi and var partitions following a YouTube tutorial . I’m getting this screen saying
“failed unmounting var.mount - /var”
I don’t have internet connection for this installation because my WiFi card from Broadcom (bcm94360ng) wasn’t compatible at first. I had Switched the original WiFi card for hackintosh purposes. (Still have it in a second ssd)
I don’t know if this error is related to the fact that the installation don’t have internet access.
My setup:
Mobo: asus 760i
Intel i7 13700k
Gpu amd 6950xt
Dell 4k monitor
I was intending to fix the WiFi problem using the following command:
just use-Broadcom-wl

The steps used to create the partition:
1. shrinked the disk space on windows (for dual boot)
in the installation process selected the available free space:
2. created a mountpoint /boo/efi with EFI system partition | 300mb
3. created a mountpoint /boot with ext4 file system | 1gb
4. created a btrf file system with the remaining file space.
5. selected the folder with btrf and then created the following mointpoints
5.1 /
5.2 /var
5.3 /var/home
6. applied all the changes and procceded the installation without selecting the internet acess point.
7. rebooted and got a screen to select between continue boot, install mok and and 2 other options.
8. got the errors described abobe and in the image.Universal Blue

You shouldn't need internet access to get through the installer. I'd guess the more likely candidate for the errors would be the manual partitioning step.
@wolfyreload I described how the partitioning was made. Do you have any clues?
The guide looks good to me but I'm going to follow the manual partitioning guide in a virtual machine and see if I get the same error
The instructions are good, just tested them in a VM without internet access and the install went smoothly. I would check the checksum of the downloaded ISO and I would try a re-install and remove the partitions that you added and try again and see if you get the same issue

👋 just did everything again and even discarded the windows partition. (Still left a NTFS with games) but got the same result.
i feel you there bro. i have been trying to install bazz for two days now and the farthest i have made it is getting bazz to run 1 time after rebasing from kinoite which was then borked after a restart when it would hang up on verifying install. so i am back to square 1 rebasing from kinoite again and hopefully getting it to work this time. 🤞
