What colors should I wear to compliment my skin tone?
Basically title, I have dark skin ala Idris Elba and I just wanna prioritise color changes for my wardrobe overhaul.
I'm not fussed about "seasonal" colors - if it fits, it fits.

it's probably worth looking into things beyond color (like aesthetic or actual outfits) because idris elba can and has worn every color under the rainbow
what exactly are you trying to overhaul?
I already have an idea of the wardrobe idea, it's in an earlier thread
In short Techwear + US/JP Streetwear
But I'm starting slow, getting fresh basics in first - I literally only reference Idris because we share the same skin tone
And all that tells me is that I can do whatever - but I'm more concerned about what's a "comfortable/safe" color choice
black. earth tones. white.
if this was the intended aesthetic then i'd agree with black, earth tones (grays, olives, beiges) and white https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1244885770620244078/1244885770620244078
this might be a case to where you buy slow, and still keep looking for and at inspiration and seeing what other color combinations come up organically
That's correct - damn, sad to get rid of my navys as I like blue a fckton
Will certainly do!
have you attempted this style in navy though
Technically, no
black is kinda the default mode for this but maybe for you it's navy? it's good to have an intention but i wouldn't fully ignore your existing preferences or instincts unless you have good reason to
I think I lean to blue black, say blue tops/sneakers and black cargos; I don't think I'd be able to get away with brighter blues and earth tones at all
You would
Oh, well shitden
plenty of people do colorful streetwear
Cuz most of my sneakers are already blue
it’s just. There are fewer pieces and it’s “harder” than just all black mall ninja techwear
Yeah, I wanna have options behind black mall cuz it's "summer"
You can also (probably) do mostly black with blue sneakers depending on the sneakers, the pant shoe interaction, the shade of blue, etc
you can wear all black in summer tho
plenty of people do it see #waywt
It’s like 38°c w 70% humidity where I am and I do it
I can but wanna have options beside it, thats all
It'll be nice to try these, I'm getting cargos in to taper (black/olive) and some Independant Trading Co blank hoodies; can experiment with a few earth tone colors.
Tho, I still wanna wear jeans and such - I don't have any light washes, mainly demin/grey/black. Should I get some light washes or stick to darker tones here?

Imo coltar is the reining monarch of blue streetwear, but a lot of her fits don’t lean “techwear”
Sure if you want, you don’t “need” a huge variety in styles or colors (or even a huge number of individual pieces) to have a “good” wardrobe
Techwear is an option, not the option - and I fuck with this ^^
Also, I can always mix and match!
Blue is the best color. Just sayin'
