went to a wedding the other week and every single internet fashion person (including at least 2 people from this here discord) owned a pair, with the exception of one (who was then microinfluenced), so they're definitely still popular in this sphere

Where’d the wedding take place? I’m on the west coast so it’s fairly common to see pairs on a daily basis. They definitely exploded in popularity just like the merz and warehouse ts did.
