Rebuilding My Wardrobe

I'm sorry for asking a similar question. The thing is that i've started my gaining phase and some of the clothes that I used to wear daily don't fit me or they fit tightly. On top of that it's the rainy season and the rain loves me, whenever i go outside, i get wet very frequently so it'd be nice to have more options. Here are the items that i own and they are in good condition: Chinos: Black ( the colour has slightly faded but i don't think it's time to buy another black chino) Biege Navy Blue Olive Jeans Midnight Blue (really dark shade) Light Blue White Shirts Solid: Navy Blue Velvet (can be layered) Sky blue (linen) ( in the process of stitching) White ( in the process of stitching and it's most likely a formal one) White Linen Pattern Black Check (can be layered) Grey striped (I'm trying to remove the stain that's why I'm not sure whether i should count it or not) T shirts Black Polo ( looks slightly faded but looks decent overall) Shoes Beige chelsea White leather sneakers ( needs replacement) I'm looking for timeless items that can be wore in most of the seasons, i don't need warm clothes because i have a good collection and i don't want to get mixed up in the trend.

- other than the fit itself, is there anything wrong with your current clothes? - what occasions are you trying to dress for - work, gym/active, casual, formal, etc? - what are some kinds of clothes or outfits that you think are good? pictures help more than words, if you're stuck on this check #waywt or #inspiration or social media like pinterest or ig

Yes, they are old and the colour has faded, only a few of them look good. I'm looking for a casual occasion maybe some semi-formal items. Lemme check the #inspiration I'd say i like to look a bit stylish without trying too hard.

that is a worthy goal but what is "stylish" and what is "not trying too hard" can differ from person to person it's better to have specific visuals rather than text-based descriptions

If you're able to provide images of fits that you like and a budget in $$ then we can help point you in different brand directions, but us saying "buy a blue shirt" is essentially pointless, you know?
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Well brand recommendation and budget wouldn't help because i live in India. I don't think that fitting will be an issue because it's most likely I'll have to get some pieces tailored.

Fit meaning outfit, sorry. Like, if you're able to post pics of outfits that you like, we can provide recommendations. Even if it isn't brand specific, there are dozens of different cuts a basic tshirt, button down, or pants can come in.
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Sure

if that is what would want to look like then based on your current wardrobe you've got a solid head start overarching note would be if you're replacing clothes to maybe go for a less slim fit; the super skinny jeans are a little dated and you can get a similar effect with a slim or straight fit
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Well that's why i got a new pair of denim. I don't like skinny fit

only obvious things missing from what you have vs those pictures would be a denim jacket - levi's and wrangler are two solid brands
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Yeah, I'll probably buy one during winters.

*and something to deal with the rain, whether that's a rain jacket or umbrella muji and uniqlo are both useful for replacing some of the basic tops/bottoms if needed if you're able to try something on in person that's ideal, but at a minimum measure something that fits how you want it and compare it to the size chart available

I'm thinking of these colours. Biege Brown Burgundy Olive Navy Blue Maybe I should get a check shirt in one and the rest of them in t shirts?

in theory that might be a good combination and a good shirt but it's going to depend on the individual items
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Uniqlo is good, A few weeks ago i ordered beige jeans but I never received them and the order got cancelled but i think they should have prioritised first come first serve.

you might find it best to focus on one thing, like finding a good checkered shirt
ragnar_lothbrok3239
If you look closely then you'll realise that I'm missing earth colour top pieces. Do you have any pictures?

going back to this https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1259206308238852199/1259218132480819370 the question would be "where does a plaid shirt fit in with these other things"?
ragnar_lothbrok3239
With most of my pants except the beige one?

so i think the focus at least for now could be finding better t-shirts in the colors you want and seeing how they fit with your new bottoms then maybe start looking for plaid shirts
ragnar_lothbrok3239
I agree, btw i have a question. I should go for a full sleeve with olive or earth tones because my hand is tanned and if i wear a half sleeve on those colours then there wouldn't be a big difference between my arms and clothes.

zeometer6mo ago
it depends on the actual color of the shirt but it should not be an issue
ragnar_lothbrok3239
So for now i should get few tees?
zeometer
zeometer6mo ago
yes, i think so buy colors that you like try them on with your pants and shoes and see if you like the resulting outfit. if you want, take pictures of them and post them in a separate #questions-and-advice thread
ragnar_lothbrok3239
These are the colours that i like+ black

then buy what you can afford of those six colors muji and uniqlo are good options
ragnar_lothbrok3239
Umm... I think I'll do that in future, when I buy two pieces, bottom as well as top, it'll be easier. Thx!
