Games partition shared between windows and bazzite on ROG ALLY
Hi guys, has anyone managed to get a shared partition for games shared between windows AND linux in game mode?
I'm currently trying to do this on my ROG ally and I'm having nothing but troubles with it

So my current setup is
150gb for windows
150gb for bazzite
Remainder of the 1TB ssd for games (Currently formatted as Fat32)
If anyone could lend any knowledge or assistance it'll be very much appreciated
I've also gone ahead and disabled fast boot and quick startup from within windows and the bios
The best way to do this is WinBTRFS
That way your shared drive is properly supported by proton and can still be used in Windows
I see
yeah you don't want to use fat32, exfat, or ntfs for games on linux lol
a shared btrfs drive is the way
I have done some digging into win btrfs and I've installed the driver on my win install.
The hurdle that I am stuck at currently is getting the drive automatically mounted in any way shape or form in gaming mode off boot
I can easily change the partition to btrfs w/ kde partman
But this leads me to my next question:
How do you get bazzite (in gaming mode) to mount the partition so that is usable off boot?
is this a secondary drive
like some kind of external one
or is this your internal
because internal should be auto-mounted and be reading your games obviously but from what im gathering its an external drive
Nope this is a partiton that exists on my internal drive
what is the filesystem
Was Fat32, is now btrfs
hmm yeah i see
insanely edge case stuff here lol
valve has a thing for auto-mounting microSD cards
wait
I didn't realise that I would be a trailblazer in this regard lol
I just wanted to have a unified partition that windows and linux could both have games installed to
Cos I jump between the two quite often
are you able to add it using the steam storage settings
and make it a default library
In game mode or in desktop mode?
either work
as long as its in steam
hang tight, i'll give it a shot in desktop md
