Is structure A correct? (Chemical Bonding, Class 11th)
My friend made this structure in coaching a few days ago, my chemistry teacher saw this and said that this isn't correct because carbon is the central atom and thats why he was unable to plot 24 valence electrons. But somehow, i have managed to fit 24 electrons.
is this correct? How?

to close the thread when your doubt is solved. Mention the users who helped you solve the doubt. This will be added to their stats.c) is incorrect. also you should study chemical bonding properly.
but our sir told us that it is correct
how it's incorrect?
and also, abhi to shuru hua chemical bonding!
Only b is correct
ohh okay buddy, its alright.
Arey chlorine ke valence shell mein 7 electrons hain but valency 1 hai.
sir se pucho ki chlorine ki bonding samjhayen and chlorine max kitne bond bana skta...ask him this. he will clear your doubts
oh, ok
a mein kya galat hai?
ye bhi matter karta hai?
ok, sir ne ye to nahin bataya!
ok, puch lunga kal!
yes bro. carbon ka example len agar toh carbon can make only four bonds due to its tetravalency toh same aisa chlorine ke saath bhi hai
yess...class mein doubts puchoge toh thinking mein progression ayega
ok, thanks alot
welcome!!
