Question no. 8 I have solved the question but I want to know how to find the tension in a string with mass with say distance x from the top Also pls review my process for getting b and c parts I considered the 4kg rope not as a rope but as a block itself and then found the magnitude of contact force between 5kg and 4kg block and 4kg and 7kg block , thus giving me tension at both the respective points. I got their average as the tension in the mid point This seems more of a "jugaad" to me . What is the actual process for this

Actual process is considering the upper part of rope and block as one one body and lower part as another from the midpoint(any point) and the applying equations @hardcoreisdead

So net tension will be To-Mg where M is mass of x metres of rope

but the system is also accelerating right, so ig we need to add psedo force in the rope's frame, in the downward direction (for the 7kg mass+ the mass of rope below the point)

i havent done pseudo force yet so cant say anyone ???

i think u have to take x part of rope and 5kg block as system and l-x part of rope and 7kg block as system

i think we can verify this by taking case of midpoint only as given in qn

Yeah I've done basically same , check the figs I sent

yeah if ans is coming same then both are correct.. yeah it is matching with midpoint case
