How come sometimes it will say I only gained a certain amount of Mmr but then I will go up a whole rank? I’m not complaining just wondering

The rank you see in VALORANT is determined by a combination of your Matchmaking Rating (MMR) and your Rank Rating (RR). While MMR is an internal value that reflects your skill level, RR is what you see visually and directly influences your rank. Sometimes, even if you gain a small amount of RR from a match, your MMR might be significantly higher than what your current rank represents. This can cause you to skip ahead in rank more quickly than you'd expect. Essentially, your visible rank is catching up to your MMR.
