Decky-loader keeps going MIA!
Can't get to the bottom of this. I've followed the Bazzite guide to the letter on my GPD Win 4 and this issues keeps coming up.
Deck loader is installed and worked fine for maybe a day max, sometimes less and then it vanished from the QAM.
Rerunning ujust decky-setup shows it's installed. Except it won't display on QAM.
What could possibly be the reason and how do I resolve this, short of complete rebuild. Which I've done about 7 times now. It's there for a while then it's not.

its the steam beta
don't use steam beta
or dont use decky
the beta is fine
or manually setup decky pre release
depends on what you prefer
pretty much. i wish valve would formally enable a plugin system of some sort 🤔
but for GPD devices, probably better to go with Decky pre-release for fan controls via PowerControl

sux that i dont have a device with software fan controls
eh PowerControl works fine and is maintained by honjow, i'm assuming it'll be around for a long time for GPD devices
yea its good but having to deal with decky breaking every 2 weeks not good
decky hasn't broken for me for a very long time, but I also am on steam stable
well doesnt help that steam beta has had killer features last year
but one day i hope decky will no longer be necessary
lol yeah, the steam families feature + screen recording are a pretty big deal
yes gpd fan controls are unfortunate
but its also a feature that needs a lot of care
tbh i'm just glad that fan controls even exist. GPD sells what, a few thousand devices at most? shocking that there's even a gui option for such niche handhelds
better than the windows variant

Cheers everyone. Just after my post I stumbled onto the Steam beta issue. I was enabling it because I use family sharing and it was nagging me. So it's working now. And I'm pleased to say I got to bottom of my other issues with Bazzite too. So will the system software update / Decky loader issue be fixed in near future or is it a hard one to fix?

we're planning to stop recommending decky since its not needed for tdp controls and glyphs
it will always break with steam betas etc

is there anyway to use this with the new HHD TDP? it alwasy says i need to uninstall it to use TDP

To powercontrolFan or something

Guys , help out xD i installed bazzite ( desktop ) on my AMD mini pc … using a xbox controller troller , in game-mode … how do i get to the right side menu what button combo ?! 😅
Same as in steamos
Xinput/Xbox controllers: guide then a (like within 1 second or something of each other)
All other controller types: guide+a (if it had an Xbox layout)
Guide = brand/home button
