Can someone help me glean useful information out of my Spark profiler output?
I know enough to run it, but I don't have enough knowledge to actually understand what it's telling me.
I'm particularly concerned about mods that might be negatively affecting performance.

Right so
some notes
- C2ME and VMP are unstable.
- your view and sim distance is too high, 8 view 6 sim max
- you can’t tell what mods are laggier because you aren’t putting enough load on the server.
- try find mod alternatives for datapacks when possible, datapacks are poorly optimised and can often cause a ton of lag.
- I’m assuming you’re self hosting. Don’t use windows if possible, you’ll lose performance. Use Ubuntu / Linux. If you are hosting on your main pc, you are going to worsen perf for both yourself and the server. Use a separate pc. Make sure you are happy with paying for electricity cost. Consider using shared hosting ( #marketplace )
thanks for these tips!
does c2me and vmp being unstable mean i should remove them?
also if i cant tell which mods are laggier because there isnt enough load on the server, is that a good thing? that my server isnt reaching maximum load?
Yes
Pretty much.
If you start experiencing lag take a profiler and make a new questions post or send it here
I find carpet mod’s lagFreeSpawning rule is good
ugh i just wish there was a split between Carpet - performance and Carpet - feature additions
it does so many different things that it has many overlaps with mods ive already added hahaha
guess i gotta go through and figure out which ones and replace it with carpet!
Well the rules are disabled so it doesn’t cause any extra performance impacts as long as you keep it that way
Hey so later when I have time I'm definitely gonna go through and manually figure out what the conflict is, but for some reason adding Carpet to my modlist leads to a server startup crash before the server even fully starts.
Is there any chance there is a well-known conflict that might cause this?
If you don't know that's perfectly fine, I'll just manually figure it out later :)
