It sounds like you're encountering an issue with administrative permissions on your computer when trying to enable Control Flow Guard (CFG). Here are a few steps you can try:
1. Contact Your IT Administrator: Since you're seeing an "IT Administrator" message, you likely have restrictions placed by your system administrator. Reach out to your IT department for assistance.
2. Local Administrator Access: If you're an administrator of your own system, try running the settings app with elevated privileges. Right-click the Start menu, select "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)", then type
3. Group Policy Editor: If you have access, open the Group Policy Editor by typing
2. Local Administrator Access: If you're an administrator of your own system, try running the settings app with elevated privileges. Right-click the Start menu, select "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)", then type
control Admiral.cpl
to open Security settings directly.
3. Group Policy Editor: If you have access, open the Group Policy Editor by typing
gpedit.msc
in the Run dialog (Win + R). Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\App Container
, and check the relevant policies if you have permission. Note: Tweaking Group Policy should be done with caution.
If the issue persists, or you're unsure about any steps, checking with your IT administrator remains the best course of action.
