To address lag and FPS drops on your laptop, you can try the following steps:
1. Update Drivers: Ensure your GPU and other drivers are updated. Check your laptop manufacturer's website or use a tool like GeForce Experience (NVIDIA) or Radeon Software (AMD).
2. Lower In-Game Settings: Reduce graphics settings in VALORANT. Start with lower resolutions and turn off or reduce effects such as shadows, anti-aliasing, and textures.
3. Close Background Applications: Free up system resources by closing unnecessary applications running in the background. You can check this via Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
4. Power Settings: Ensure your laptop is set to "High Performance" mode in Power Options to maximize performance.
5. Cooling: Overheating can cause throttling. Make sure your laptop is properly ventilated and consider using a cooling pad.
6. Check Internet Connection: Poor internet can also cause lag. Use a wired connection if possible or ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong.
7. Reduce GPU Load: Turn off unnecessary overlays like Discord overlay, NVIDIA Shadowplay, etc.
If these steps don't help, consider looking into more detailed troubleshooting on Riot Games support site or submitting a ticket for personalized assistance: VALORANT Support.
