vanguard out of compliance with current system settings, wrong fix? SOLUTION: disable VBS
getting back into valorant, I would see this message everytime I would boot up the game which leads into valorant closing. I did some searching and enabled secure boot, tpm, deleted and reinstalled vanguard, and restarted my computer, yet nothing worked.
A solution I saw, if none of these worked, was to disable VBS (virtualization-based security). I did this and it ended up working, removing the message and allowing me to play, however I'm wondering if this will cause any problems down the line? Should I attempt another solution that would be more consistent and/or safer?

win+r, msinfo32, send a photo
this setting
i turned it off and valorant began to work
^
send a photo of the entire gui?
yes
You can remove some portions if you find them sensitive to your personal information
ooo
i believe i have just found a bit of an issue
Please show me the information a bit above that
And if you're referring to the highlighted thing that is not an issue
ok
gotcha
And is secure boot enabled?
i believe so
It should say a bit below that
but i'll go check again
would it be this?
it says off
yikes
hm
^ Is this the error you were getting
Error code: VAN 9003?
yes
That's because secure boot is off
yeah
i'm not sure why it's off though
i should've turned it on
in bios
Do you know where in the Bios?
Because if you can go back to your bios and then go back to that specific section and send me a photo
is it even possible to get a photo in bios?
or like with a secondary device
If you have a phone you can
alright
one second
this is the setting i was recommended to look at in a guide
This is not secure boot
but i cant necessarily find a setting for secure boot
yea
like i have boot settings here but idrk where to find secure boot since that last picture was where i ended off with a guide fix
Set that to UEFI
Then go to settings and then Windows OS Configuration
You should see something called csm and change it to disabled
It may be on a different section
That version of the BIOS was 8 years ago
Can you play the game normally right now?
Or are you getting an error?
Solution
yes with VBS disabled, however i was wondering if thats ok?
also i am looking around for a cms option, so far cant find one
no error currently, as said with VBS disabled
Ok
Then there's no reason to do anything else
There's no real risk
so its fine to have VBS disabled? it wont cause sny problems
As long as you're not stupid and install malware you'll be fine
ic
that clears it up, ty
