how to solve questions faster

I often find myself just staring at the working or writing unnecessary information. Any tips on how to stop this?

Well, what you want to do first of all is figure out what the question wants from you. Next is figuring out how you can bring about what it's asking of you. This is the toughest step imo. The last step is actually implementing what you got in step 2. Now, step 1 is all about understanding and your reading skill. How well can you interpret the question. This comes with theoretical knowledge and some practice. The second step comes from practice practice and more practice. Don't go straight to working it out. Take a few seconds to think about the best way you can get the answer. For example, with Laws of Motion, sure you can grind out the values using F=ma and equations of motion, but oftentimes a free body diagram will make it much simpler. So that analysis of possible solutions is important. The last step is just working out the values/equations based on the method you've chosen. This is just how I do questions, and might not be the best way for you, i have to note.
