SD Card Mounting issue on Deck
Was working fine just last night. Today I turn it on and try to play a game installed on the SD card, and it fails. steamos had the SD card icon at top right. went to desktop mode and tried opening the SD card and it said pretty much the exact same thing as the screenshot I found online

in the reddit post I found that screenshot from, someone said to do fsck and I tried that, didn't know whether to copy backup to original, or original to backup, so I picked do nothing. then it asked if I wanted to remove the bad sectors or something and it said was typically harmless. did that, and was able to mount the SD card from kde part manager, but when I enter the SD card it's completely empty, while still stating it has almost 18gb of stuff on it still
when I did fsck, it only mentioned the nvme and didn't say anything about mmcblk0
okay I unmounted in part manager and remounted again and I can see my files, however when I tried opening the SD card before clicking mount, instead of asking if I wanted to mount it, it said the same thing
okay I realized I didn't have any mount options on the SD card and after trying that, it tells me
fsconfig system call failed: exfat: Unknown parameter 'commit'
I got the mount options straight from ublue docs on mounting btrfs
again I can mount from kde partition manager, but not from dolphin or when I insert
have to go to work now so I can't check what happens after a restart, if it will still fail to mount or not
youre using btrfs options for exfat thats why
You should probably delete the entire entry from
fstab and let SteamOS manage mounting of the SD cardI'm not that's the thing

idk why I didn't think of that when I was having issues with fstab just the other day on my main PC for a completely different reason
