It sounds like there might be an issue with how VALORANT interacts with your new laptop's system or software settings. Here's a few steps you can try to resolve the freezing issue:
1. Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are fully up-to-date. You can usually get the latest drivers from NVIDIA or AMD’s official websites.
2. Run as Administrator: Right-click on the VALORANT shortcut and select 'Run as administrator'.
3. Check for Background Programs: Ensure there are no unnecessary background programs running that might interfere with the game. You can use Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to end any non-essential tasks.
4. Adjust In-Game Settings: Lower your in-game graphics settings to see if that improves stability.
5. Power Settings: Ensure your laptop is set to high performance mode. You can change this in the Control Panel under Power Options.
6. Vanguard: Make sure that Riot Vanguard is properly installed and running. Sometimes reinstalling Vanguard separately can help.
7. Verify Game Files: Repair game files via the Riot Client's settings to ensure there are no corrupted files causing the issue.
If these steps don't help, you may need to look for more specific troubleshooting tailored to your hardware or software configuration.
