The VAN 185 error typically suggests an issue with the Vanguard anti-cheat system. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem: 1. Restart VALORANT and Riot Client: Sometimes a simple restart can clear out temporary glitches. 2. Reinstall Riot Vanguard: Navigate to the "Add or Remove Programs" option in Windows, uninstall Riot Vanguard, and then restart VALORANT. This will prompt Vanguard to reinstall. 3. Update Graphics Card Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date as outdated drivers can sometimes cause conflicts. 4. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is fully updated. 5. Close Background Programs: Certain programs running in the background might interfere with Vanguard. Make sure to close unnecessary applications. 6. Run System Scans: Sometimes malware can cause conflicts. Run a full system scan using your antivirus software. If the issue persists, it’s a good idea to submit a ticket to Riot Games Support for further assistance.
