Is `ujust _toggle_wayland` no longer a valid command? Best way to switch back to X11 on Gnome?
My deck randomly reverted from X11 to Wayland after an update, and when trying to switch back
ujust _toggle_wayland
is no longer a valid command. In fact all commands of the form ujust _*
are no long showing up when I run ujust to get a list of commands. Is this expected behavior? Apologies if so in advance, I couldn't find any mention of it in the patch notes6 Replies
By default, ujust doesn't show commands starting with '_', it's intentional behavior. As for the command disappearing, might have been removed as now Wayland is the default. Keyword here is might, can't find mention of it in gh, on mobile
Yeah, removed
Ahhh no worries, is there a way to find all the
_*
ujust commands?
also I presume editing /etc/gdm/custom.conf
is the best way to switch between wayland and x11 since theres no gnome login screen by default?/usr/share/ublue-os/just
has the scripts
On desktops there's only 3 -

X11 is already removed from KDE, and will be removed from gnome in Fedora 41
It may be supported unofficially in fedora's packages, but would require users to manually layer it
On top of that, the KDE SIG have already promised to Mark X11 issues as won't fix, and we will be following that from our end as well
Just note that if you have an issue that requires X11, you're going to want to figure out a way to use it on Wayland ASAP
