Shorts fit check

Not sure if these shorts fit right or not. Waist is fine, just thinking of other factors. Bear bottom stretch chino in size M. Looking for feedback and advice!

Definitely a little tight, but the Large felt gigantic. Might not be for me given their sizing...

Also the leg openings are very small and the cut is off-trend, but that's subjective.
