how to get rid of these stains on my boots?
A few days ago I picked up stains on the toes of these boots after walking through the rain for a while. They had initially left behind a white-ish residue so I assumed they were salt stains and on some advice from a friend tried cleaning them with a mixture of water and vinegar. At first it looked like the stains were gone, so I polished them up with a bit of saphir wax and left them. Checked again a few hours later and noticed these stains persisted. What can I do to get rid of them?

Could try cleaning with a damp cloth again, then once they have mostly dried give them a bit of mink oil rubbed in with a cloth
That's got waterspots out of similar colour leather for me really effectively in the past
Mink oil and/or saddle soap should do the job, example here and scroll down for the after https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1203639758824144896/1203643522813657098
Saddle soap is the nuclear option. You'll need to apply some leather conditioner afterwards FYI
Counterpoint: Leave it. Adds to the patina
