Bazzite X11 not shutting down

Hi, choosing shutdown or restart closes all the apps, plays sound and then goes to a black screen with only mouse cursor. Happening 100% of the times but this doesnt happen on wayland. Found this reddit post where another person is having this same exact issue : https://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/comments/1dbhuc4/bazzite_x11_wont_shut_down/ I'm super new to linux so let me know if i should provide more info.

Yup known issue, happens with KDE 100% of the time in X11. Your options are to rebase to an older image or you might be able to use a TTY session e.g. CTRL+ALT+F2 and shutdown when you have the blank screen from the terminal. Also it's not just Bazzite it's everyone on X11 with KDE last I checked the forums

Really appreciate the quick reply! I searched a bit here and there but only found that reddit post so i thought this was a rare case and not known to the devs. Hopefully it will get fixed soon and for now using poweroff command is good enough for me. Thanks!

You can track it here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488187 You can probably rebase to early June before the issue occurred and then go back to stable once it's fixed

Just wanted to jump in and say I have the same problem too. My workaround was opening terminal and shutting it down from there after the screen goes black. Good to know its just a general bug.
