electrochem series
in this q, if we do the same by reactivity series we get 8 to be the answer, but if we do it by electrochemical series we get 4 to be the answer. so how do we know when to use which and shouldnt the answer be same from both? can someone clarify with this?

Sir mera toh dono se 8 aarha hai
Cu,Ag,Au ke except all
9*
electrochem se kaise 8?
Dono se 9
ha kaise
electro se
Mujhe Sn ka doubt tha toh maine book m khol li electro chem series
And agr H2 release krna hai toh uss element ko Hydrogen se kam reducing power honi chaiye basically -ve reducing pot.
@iTeachChem
i think aapne h20 se neeche liya tha

Answer will be 8 as cr form complex with water @trin
👀
Sir acidic H ho toh
Like acidic H of Na,K ...
Nice! You mean this, right?
https://www.chemguide.co.uk/inorganic/transition/chromium.html
chromium
Describes and explains some features of chromium chemistry
This way technically zn al also form complexes right?
oh
i didnt learn coordination complexes yet
Al does not react with water due to thin passive layer of oxide but reacts with steam while zinc reacts with water to produce hydrogen ga(zinc and al are somewhat active metals)
This is not covered in coordination btw
Gotcha yea this theoretical idea is awesome. But basically we cant explain this just on the basic of the e chem series right.
So it was my b to put this q in this chapter this early on shayad.
Yes need to be thorough with block chemistry
Yessir. P block 12th grade padhane ke baad this q should be asked :D
Sir ek baar explain Krna ye kya hua
@iTeachChem
this was given in d block
the table the god table
if you read the d block chapter somewhere it is mentioned that cu does not release H2 gas
and more info on the stuff
Ji.
Oxidising acids se
yes sir but there is a exception with HNO3 or maybe it was H2SO4
but i do not think here tht would be a prob
Yea hno3 ke saath yes. H2so4 no.
Wait.
Both shayad. Haha dekhna padega
yes sir mujhe bhi dekhna padhega
Ans shi hai but logically nhi
Logically wahi hai p block me detail hai.
Oh
achaa okayy
thankyou everyone!!
